2004 All-Star: Supercar Photo Gallery
Many are red, most have a paddle-shift F1 transmission, and all are stunningly fast and deeply rewarding. The entry-level model from Maranello is available as a no-frills coupe, a frivolous Spider, or the hard-core Challenge Stradale. Common to all are tactile steering, communicative chassis, impulsive brakes, and the awesome V-8 engine. The normally aspirated, 40-valve, 3.6-liter quad-cam unit is an assault on your eardrums, your blood pressure, and your driver's license. The performance is more

2000-2004 Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge Stradale Photo Gallery
Life is good: I'm bombing through the Italian countryside south of Modena in a Ferrari Challenge Stradale, the track-tuned version of the 360 Modena, which wasn't exactly a slug to begin with. The scenery is straight out of a travel brochure, the sound is straight off a racing MP3, and my "job" is to flog the car as fast as I feel like until returning to Fiorano for a three-course meal and a drive on the Ferrari test track. more

2004 Ferrari Challenge Stradale Photo Gallery
Because Ferrari owners sometimes fancy themselves F1 drivers, and because they have the means to live out these fantasies in incredibly realistic settings, the savvy Italian carmaker now offers a race-tuned version of its 360 Modena: the Challenge Stradale. Aerodynamically, bumper and underbody modifications result in load increases that should help improve exit speeds without affecting drag. Extensive weight-reduction measures-due largely to the use of carbon fiber-result in a 240-pound savi more

2002 Paris Auto Show - Ferrari Enzo Ferrari Photo Gallery
The latest supercar from Maranello was designed by Pininfarina and is the first to bear the name of the late founder. The Enzo adapts racing technology from Formula 1, including the use of advanced composites for the bodywork. Powered by a mid-mounted 6.0-liter DOHC V-12 that develops 660 hp, the gullwing two-seater rides on nineteen-inch Bridgestone Potenza performance tires and has a top speed of more than 217 mph. Ferrari says it plans to build only 349 Enzos. more

2002 Ferrari 550 Barchetta Photo Gallery
Maranello, Italy Anything with a prancing horse on it seems to sell like crazy these days--Ferrari flags, Schumacher caps, fire-engine-red scale models, embroidered polo shirts, and, of course, sports cars. The waiting list for the U.S.-market 360 Spider stretches into the first quarter of 2004, factory-fresh 360 Modena coupes call for at least twelve months' patience, and even the V-12-engined heavyweights aren't available on short notice. So when Ferrari announces a limited-edition model, t more
