2011 honda civic Reviews and News

2011 Honda Civic
2011 Honda Civic
This small sedan from Honda offers a lot of brilliant options that are usually only found in larger, much more expensive vehicles. The Honda Civic has been one of the strongest all around vehicles in the Honda fleet for many years and continues to bring an amazing amount of value for its price. The base model Honda Civic starts at $15,800 and this is a very reasonable price for all that the Honda Civic offers. With its base 1.8 liter 140 horsepower engine and a 5 speed stick this car really offers a decent amount of acceleration and is a very fun car to drive.

This is one of the few cars that can be powered by natural gas and this clean version of the civic runs on the same engine as the other gas models. The 8th gen Civic won a Motor Trend Car Of The Year award for the amazing base model lineup. The higher trim levels offer many more great features, but these models carry a stiff completion with higher priced compact sedans from many other car manufacturers.

Heather Peters made headlines last month when she took American Honda to California Small Claims Court. She accused the automaker of making false claims in regards to the fuel economy of her 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. And she won.

Honda will provide longer warranty periods on the gas tanks for about 80,000 Civic hybrid sedans, as the cars’ fuel tanks could crack and leak. The New York Times reports that the problem affects Civic hybrids from model years 2006 through 2011.
Mugen Honda Civic Type R Front Three Quarter
Back in 2010, Honda tuner Mugen launched a limited-edition version of the Honda Civic Type R in the U.K., offering 240 hp. Of the 20 cars built, four remain unsold -- so Mugen is considering upfitting those remaining examples with an upgraded 2.2-liter engine good for 256 hp. With the past Mugen-fettled Civic Type R, the tuning company gifted the car’s 2.0-liter inline-four engine with new camshafts, pistons, and a remapped engine computer, resulting in an increase from factory ratings of 198 hp and 142 lb-ft of torque, to 240 hp and 153 lb-ft. In addition to the engine upgrades, Mugen fitted stickier tires, better brakes, stiffer springs and dampers, and sporty Recaro seats.Only 16 of the 20 Mugen cars built have been sold -- which is a big surprise given how alluring the package sounds. Now Mugenis considering outfitting those four remaining cars with a new version of the engine, which has been stroked to displace 2.2 liters and now produces about 256 hp. In addition to helping draw buyers for the unsold cars, the new engine allegedly pays homage to the Civic Type R’s erstwhile K20 2.0-liter engine. Mugen has modified over 400 copies of the K20 engine for use in road racing, rally, and street cars, but the K20 is no longer in production in Japan. “We may never see the like of the K20 in a mainstream production car again, so felt it only fitting we mark the occasion with this special 2.2 version of the Honda Civic Type R,” said Mugen Europe vice president Hiro Toyoda. So far, Mugen has yet to make a firm decision on whether it will actually turn the aforementioned Type R quartet into 2.2-liter hot hatches. The company may also offer an upgrade pack whereby owners of the prior Mugen Type R can have their cars upgraded to the 2.2-liter engine. If you live in the U.K., we’d recommend saving your pennies now to buy one of the upgraded cars. Source: Honda
2011 Infiniti Ex35 Rear Shot Moving
Once again, Nissan is bucking the trend among its Japanese counterparts with increased sales reported for the month of July. Nissan reported a 6.4-percent improvement, but its luxury arm Infiniti continues to slide with a reported decrease of 24.1 percent.
1984 Honda Civic Badge
Drawing on the Civic’s 39-year history, Honda has released a new video produced by ad agency Tier10 for the all-new 2012 model that mixes footage from old commercials with shots of current owners enjoying their Civics in their day-to-day life. Titled "Heritage," the video is scored by electronic music group Dirty Vegas, and shot with a Canon 7D DSLR camera – all qualities which ad to the spot’s overall indie feel.

Summary
HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 HONDA CIVIC VEHICLES. TO PREVENT FUEL FROM LEAKING OUT OF A VEHICLE'S FUEL TANK INTO THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS CANISTER IN THE EVENT A ROLL-OVER INCIDENT OCCURS, THE FUEL PUMP MODULE IS EQUIPPED WITH A ROLL OVER VALVE (ROV). DUE TO IMPROPER ULTRASONIC WELDING OF THE PLASTIC CASE THAT HOUSES THE ROV WITHIN THE FUEL PUMP MODULE, THE CASE MATERIAL MAY BREAK OR CRACK, WHICH MAY CAUSE THE ROV TO SEPARATE FROM THE CASE AND FAIL TO FUNCTION, THEREBY INCREASING THE RISK OF FUEL LEAKAGE IN A ROLL-OVER INCIDENT.
Consequences
FUEL LEAKAGE, IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE FUEL PUMP MODULE AND IF NECESSARY REPLACE THE MODULE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON APRIL 25, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-999-1009.
