Volkswagen continues to delude themselves that they are a "premium" brand in the USA. A $30K base price for a 2 seat VW(which will no doubt be as pitifully unreliable as most VW's) is a losing proposition.

WTF??? Why would VW not bring the diesel version to the US? I'm starting to get crappy mpg rage. The Nissan Leaf is just plain ugly and only has a range of 100 miles. The Chevy Volt looks pretty good, but has a ridiculous range of only 40 miles and then a crappy 35 mpg engine kicks in to take you another crappy 260 miles. The Tesla model S is perfect (Beautiful & electric with a range of 150-300 miles), but who could afford it.

(I'll just wait until Tesla makes a car that I can buy without having to sell my first born's kidney. They seem to be the only car manufacturer who cares about delivering a quality EV that actually competes with current performance levels.)
