2011 gmc sierra Reviews and News

2011 GMC Sierra
2011 GMC Sierra
The new line of Sierra trucks from GMC offers many variations and options packages much like its Chevy Silverado counterpart. There are barebones setups that can save the buyers thousands of dollars, but some of the most asked for features may cost more. The Sierra trucks offer a surprisingly generous amount of miles per gallon fuel economy. The GMC Sierra trucks can get as much as 22MPG while it still boasts the ability to tow up to 6,200 pounds. There are very few other models that are as powerful and economic at the same time.

The top of the line engine offered in the Sierra line is a big 4.3 liter V-6 engine that can produce a whopping 403 horsepower. Most trim packages can come in 2WD or 4WD but most owners are not willing to pay for this upgrade unless they are really going to use it often. There are new upgrades to the OnStar system that is available in the 2011 Sierra, the new OnStar 9.0 was just implemented. Other than this update there have been very little if any changes at all since the 2010 release of the Sierra truck.
2012 GMC Sierra Front Three Quarter
General Motors reported yet another month of success in September 2011, with monthly sales up 20 percent year-over-year to 207,145 vehicles. Once again, rapid sales of the Chevrolet Cruze compact helped pad GM’s sales release, in addition to increasing demand for its perennial bread-and-butter: pickup trucks. GM’s truck sales climbed 34.3 percent over September 2010.
Chevy Silverado At Gm Flint Plant
General Motors is once again slashing back pickup production in order to bring inventories in line with demand. New reports indicate the automaker is eliminating overtime shifts at a plant responsible for building heavy-duty variants of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.
Ray Lahood Visits Gm Flint Assembly Plant
General Motors has announced a $328 million investment into its Flint, Michgan plant, which will produce the upcoming next-generation GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks. Over the next 18 months, GM plans to spend $2 billion at 17 of its plants to improve facilities and help create jobs.
2011 Chevrolet Silverado Ltz Front Three Quarter1
Full-size trucks may still be some of the most popular products General Motors currently sells, but a slowing sales pace and rising dealer inventories have prompted the automaker to idle two plants responsible for building both the GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
Summary
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT, Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado HD, Silverado LD, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra LD, Sierra HD, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the ignition lock actuator may bind, making turning the key difficult or causing the ignition to get stuck in the "Start" position.
Consequences
If stuck in the "Start" position, the ignition may suddenly snap back into the "Accessory" position, causing a loss of engine, steering, and braking power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. If the vehicle is in a crash, the air bags may not deploy, increasing the risk of occupant injury.
Remedy
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the ignition lock housing, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on February 12, 2015. Owners may contact GM customer service at 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), or 1-800-462-8782 (GMC).
