The Mazdaspeed 3 is not only the fastest and most powerful version of the Mazda 3, at $22,800 it's the cheapest 155-mph car available on the U.S. market. The front-wheel-drive, four-door hatchback's six-speed manual transmission is mated to a turbocharged and intercooled 2.3-liter four good for 263 ponies and 280 lb-ft of torque. Equal-length half-shafts and electronic torque management help alleviate torque steer, and unibody reinforcements make the chassis stiffer than that of a regular 3. A limited-slip differential, larger front brakes, higher spring rates, and thicker antiroll bars help prep the hottest 3 for track duty.
