It has taken Volvo a very long time to lay the finishing touches on the V30, but we will see the three-door hatchback in 2007. It looks like a reincarnation of the classic early-1970s 1800ES. Inspired by the 2001 SCC safety car and the stillborn AAC (all-activity coupe) project, the V30 is a sexy, long-roof hold-all that will share its DNA with the S40, the V50, and the C70. This is definitely not a utility vehicle, however. It's a lifestyle coupe with a roomy and versatile interior. If they can find the money, the Scandinavians would love to add a sporty all-wheel-drive V30R.
