Those of you who regularly read Rumor Central and watch our Feature Flicks do seem to have particular and peculiar tastes. Continuing our look back at the year in videos, promos/advertisements, and visual car reviews, there's little to no theme; instead, you eagerly watched videos featuring your favorite muscle cars, hot hatchbacks, family sedans, convertibles, and crazy concepts. Here's a look at the things you looked at en masse in 2012:

2013 Honda Accord Rolls Around in Silence

We scratched our head when we found out that the number one most watched video on Rumor Central was a silent film of the Honda Accord (really just a compendium of B-roll footage). That was, until we remembered that the simple Accord is wildly popular: in 2013 the Accord will outsell all of the cars featured in videos two through 10, combined.

Tesla Model S Out-Drags BMW M5

It started as a conversation over a nightcap at our annual Automobile of the Year test: just how fast is the Tesla Model S? 24 hours and some tire smoke later, we had our answer: the Model S, with its instant torque and single-speed transmission, can out-drag the BMW M5 up to about 100 mph.

Forza Motorsport 4 Releases 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo Bonus Pack

We like playing video games at Automobile, and we appreciate the Hyundai Veloster Turbo's compact, funky body and grunty turbocharged engine. Evidently so do you: the video announcement for Forza Motorsport's new bonus pack--which featured the Veloster Turbo--took top honors.

Chevrolet Officially Teases the 2014 Corvette

It's been a good year for 2014 Corvette coverage: spy shots of the Corvette received lots of love in 2012, and Chevrolet's first official video teaser for the Corvette was the fourth most-viewed video of the year. Thankfully (for Chevrolet), the first official teaser turned into a series of teaser videos leading up to the Corvette's 1/13/13 release.

Ford Mustang Boss 302 with Exhaust Restrictors Removed

The Ford Mustang Boss 302 already sounds excellent, but remove its exhaust restrictor plates and it turns into a vocal--and questionably legal--beast. Fox Motorsports took the plates out of its Boss 302 Laguna Seca and provided us with one of the first looks and listens of the car in all of its aural glory.

Chinese-Designed Volkswagen Hover Car Takes Flight in China

Fans of the Jetsons would be a bit annoyed if they found out that the hovercar is not available for purchase in 2012. Still, Volkswagen cooked up a video to illustrate what a two-seater hover car might look like cruising the streets of Chengdu, China. While we don't understand any of the audio, we can appreciate the sight of a car floating about six inches above ground in traffic.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Takes On 2013 Ford Shelby GT500

It'll be remembered as a fight for the history books: months after Chevrolet released the Camaro ZL1 with 580 hp; Ford unveiled its 662-hp Shelby GT500. The stage was set for a battle royale, and the cameras were rolling as we pit the Ford against the Chevy at the strip, at the track, and on the street.

The Evoque is a beautiful creature, but it turns into a curious animal when you remove the hardtop and replace it with a folding softtop. Plenty of curious readers tuned in to see what this crazy contraption would look like. Spoiler alert: it still looks pretty.

Audi A6 Channels Moby Dick and Eludes Tow Truck Driver

How do you illustrate the dynamic goodness of Audi's famous quattro all-wheel drive system? By comparing a white A6 (with four driven wheels and a superb 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 engine) to a white whale, bounding through snow drifts and eluding Captain Ahab, the tow-truck driver. It's good for a chuckle, if nothing else.

Ford Mustang V-6 and Subaru BRZ Go Head to Head at Streets of Willow

Our friends at Motor Trend couldn't help themselves: in looking for a competitor for the then-brand-new Subaru BRZ, they didn't look for a competitor with a similar power output, and instead went for a car that competes on price, the Ford Mustang V-6.  The Mustang leads the BRZ by 105 horsepower, but the BRZ's handling prowess puts up a good fight through the corners. It's an interesting comparison, and an interesting video.
