The Next Ford Mustang to Get Global Design

The American ponycar may not be quite so American with the next generation. Word out of Ford is that, like all of its other models, all of the automaker’s global design teams will be able to submit ideas and have input on the design of the nxet-gen ‘Stang. No matter where the design is from, we doubt that they’ll have any issue capturing the essence of Steve McQueen in Bullitt.

Big Sales for The Big Three: Ford, GM, and Chrysler all Fair Well in February

2011 Geneva Motor Show Recap: Supercars and Concepts Galore

With the 81st Geneva Motor Show kicking off this past week, all of the world’s automakers had their wares out on the show floor. Supercars stole the spotlight with Lamborghini finally unveiling its new flagship LP 700-4 Aventador, Ferrari showing off its all-wheel drive shooting break FF, Koenigsegg getting power-hungry with the 1115-horsepower Agera R, Alfa Romeo going smaller with the 4C,the Gumpert Tornante righting the Apollo’s styling wrongs, and Pagani’s Huayra tying our tongues in knots.

However, green was in vogue at the Swiss show as much as power with Opel’s production-spec Amepera, Nissan’s Esflow concept blending Leaf with 370Z, Smart’s ForSpeed Electric concept, and the all-electric Rolls-Royce 102EX Concept. That’s right, an all-electric Rolls. Volkswagen also rolled out a trio of concepts with the Giugiaro-designed Go! and Tex, and the retro Bulli concept. The Bulli concept is made to be a 21st century Microubs, and we have the skinny on the sketch that got the original rear-engined van into production. There’s even more coverage to be had from the Geneva Motor Show, so make sure to check it out.
