What's better: A Ferrari Enzo or its badge-engineered sibling, the Maserati MC12? We don’t know the answer, but we’re glad someone decided to pit the two exotic supercars against one another on the Nurburgring – and filmed the entire endeavo for our amusement.
Granted, neither car is exactly as they left the factory years ago – both have been thoroughly massaged by German tuning firm Edo Competition. The yellow car looks much like the factory-built, race-spec Ferrari FXX, but it was actually created from a stock road-going Enzo. Dubbed the ZXX, the wild creation was built from an Enzo wrecked in Canada several years ago, and now boasts a whopping 950 hp. That’s actually more than the orange MC12 Corsa shown here. Although it too was slightly upgraded by Edo, it only receives wheel, brake, and aerodynamic modifications – the stock 755-hp V-12 remains essentially untouched, save for a new exhaust system that helps make quite a glorious noise.
But enough about the specs. We love seeing cars like this in action, and we love that these two tuned Enzo variants were let loose on the Nordschliefe at the same time. We’re treated mostly to a in-cabin and rear view from the Maserati, and the audio quality isn’t necessarily first-rate, but the images – to say nothing of the sounds – will stick with you for quite some time. It may well be one of the better videos you’ll watch this week.
