What do chickens and Mercedes-Benz have in common? A new commercial from Mercedes aims to find out, advertising for the new Magic Body Control suspension system found in the redesigned 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
The clip uses dancing chickens to illustrate the principle behind the Magic Body Control suspension; as the chicken’s bodies bob and weave all around, their heads stay completely still. The Magic Body Control system on the 2014 S-Class scans the road surface with cameras and prepares the suspension for impacts ahead of time, allowing the ride to stay smooth while the wheels and suspension move around just like the chickens.
Our first drive of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class revealed the system to be remarkably effective, practically erasing speed bumps at 25 mph compared with the already smooth ride with Magic Body Control switched off.
Magic Body Control is one of many advanced technologies in the new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Other innovations include pedestrian detection, autonomous braking up to 31 mph, and a near-autonomous steering assist system. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S550 will be the first model to arrive in the U.S. next month with a starting price of $93,825 including destination. This model is equipped with a 455 hp, 4.7-liter twin-turbo V-8. The next S-Class variants to arrive on our shores will be the 577-hp S63 AMG and the S500 Plug-In Hybrid, which will be able to drive 18 miles on battery power.
