Out of the many cars that got flung around a parking lot at the 2012 Tokyo Auto Salon during Toyota's motorsport exhibition, nearly every one survived without a scratch, including the Lexus LFA Roadster convertible concept. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for one special Lexus IS F.
In just three seconds, one of Toyota's professional hot-shoes went from big shot hero to, well, a very embarrassed one. Sadly, his rumbling steed wasn’t a streetcar with a body kit. No, it was an extremely rare and purpose-built model called the Lexus IS F CCS-R (Circuit Club Sport Racer). To boot, over the course of the last year, it’s been tuned specifically for the rigors of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring that’s scheduled on May 20th. In other words, this lean and mean No. 112 racing machine means a lot in terms of time and Yen to Toyota's Gazoo Racing and its GRMN (Gazoo Racing tuned by Meister of Nürburgring) division.
Enough with the prefacing, here’s what you want to see. For your added viewing pleasure, we’ve made sure to include multiple angles of this IS F(ail) video:
Video #5: The Aftermath.
Don’t worry: From what we understand, once the IS F gets all pretty again it will fulfill its destiny as a 24 hr ‘Ring racer this spring.
