After a nearly 50-year disappearance, the Veritas name is back and its latest model is nearly ready for production. The Veritas RS III will make its world debut at the exclusive Salon Privé in the UK.
The RS III is an open-cockpit supercar similar to the Mercedes-Benz SLR Stirling Moss. Power comes from either a 480-hp V-8 or a 600-hp V-10. Both powertrains start life as a BMW engines before receiving a little Veritas tuning. With either engine, the RS III will hit 60 mph from a standstill in the 3-second range, and will continue on to a top speed in excess of 200 mph. A production run of only 50 examples is planned, with each car carrying a base price of $375,000.
Salon Privé is an exclusive supercar show at London's Hurlingham country club. Other highlights from the show include a Maserati Quattroporte GT S, Maybach Zeppelin, Morgan Aero Super Sport and the UK debut of the Aston Martin One-77. The three-day show starts July 22 and tickets are £125 for a day pass.
