Who would have thought one black-on-black Audi Q7 would cause so much trouble? Apparently, it's one of the most well-known vehicles in the U.K., albeit not for the best of reasons. The SUV pictured used to be owned by mob boss Kevin "Gerbil" Carroll, but after his slaying last month, the local police seized it and are now using it as their own patrol car.
"We want to send a message that if you are a criminal driving about in a car like this, we will come and take it off you. It's not yours anymore; it's ours," said Assistant Chief Constable John Neilson to The Scottish Sun.
Carroll was a fan of exotics and other high-end rides. Prior to the Q7, police had confiscated a few of his other vehicles. The Q7 was reportedly a "pool" car used by Carroll's lieutenants and friends. It's fully loaded, of course, with satellite TVs, a bumping sound system, and most, if not all, of Audi's top-shelf S-Line goodies.
But that's not the end of the story. Carroll's surviving cohorts have reportedly vowed to bomb the car should they have the chance. As one well-connected source said: "They think it's disrespectful and have vowed that they'll get some sort of revenge against the police. Some of them have mentioned that they'll firebomb the car if they get a chance. They don't want people to think that the cops are laughing at them."
