Apparently Ford Focus RS owners aren't the only ones in the United Kingdom with the option of installing white wheels on their cars. Chevrolet U.K. now offers an optional CS package for Cruze owners, with several appearance upgrades including a set of fair-colored rollers.
Although the Chevrolet Cruze isn't available on our shores yet, U.K. owners have enjoyed the compact car since 2008. Chevy is launching the British Touring Car Championship-inspired CS package for its Cruze models in the U.K., composed of a lowered suspension, rear spoiler, graphics kit, and new floor mats. Possibly the most important items in the kit, though, are the 18-inch multi-spoke white wheels. Although the primary focus of the package is aesthetic, the lowered suspension should improve handling. The optional upgrade retails for $2410 -- £1595 -- including installation, and can be added to any Cruze, regardless of trim level.
Scheduled to launch Stateside in September, the hottest Cruzes we'll see here are ones fitted with the optional RS upgrade. Though very similar to the CS package, our RS add-on is purely for looks. The RS includes larger wheels, new front and rear fascias, fog lights, and a rear spoiler. If the model is as popular in the U.S. as Chevy hopes it will be, we wouldn't be surprised to see the availability of more option packages in the future.
Last week, Chevy ended the seven-year manufacturing run of its compact Cobalt to make room for Cruze production. Assembly is scheduled to start on July 12, with units hitting dealer lots this fall. Are you excited as we are for the Chevy Cruze?
