As expected, Ford has announced more information on its specialty cars featured in the 2013 Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas this November. The reveal indicates that four tuning companies have taken on the 2014 Ford Focus ST, sure to engender some adrenaline-pumping alongside your viewing pleasure.
Universal Technical Institute sought to imbue its 2014 Ford Focus ST with vintage heritage, teaming up with Tjin Edition to create familiar blue and orange of Gulf Racing along with enhanced flares and custom roof scoop. The custom body kit sits on nineteen-inch wheels, along with high-performance chassis upgrades such as improved brakes and suspension. More horses are invited to the party courtesy of dual side exhausts, an intercooler kit, and a high-flow catalytic converter.
Also opting for the vintage approach, Green Filter USA has built a striking green-and-gold 2014 Ford Focus ST that is inspired by the original Lotus-Ford racer that won the 1965 Indianapolis 500. Green Filter USA worked with curators from the Henry Ford Museum to create this modern interpretation of a classic, which sports a high-performance air filter, custom intake and exhaust, and large conical exhaust outlets. Precise handling is achieved with custom Ground Force suspension components.
Ford’s third offering is a crime-fighting 2014 Ford Focus ST, equipped with tuner company Drag Racing Against Gangs & Graffiti’s (DRAGG) custom exterior scheme. Law-enforcement graphics are paired with a bolt-on cat-back exhaust system, racing wheels, and custom suspension and brakes. Other add-ons that help this Focus ST mete out hot-hatch justice include an interior rifle rack and LED emergency lights.
Lastly, PM Lifestyle captures road rally culture with their tuned version of the 2014 Ford Focus ST. This SoCal-inspired animal is clad in a clean Axalta custom paint in muted blue, with SparcoChrono Road sears and a five-point harness to round out the interior. Major performance upgrades include a straight-shot water methanol from Banks Power, Wilwood brakes and Schroth Racing coilover and sway bars for the suspension.
Expect to see more updates as Ford releases details on other SEMA-bound tuner cars this week.
