Toyota Releases New 2014 Corolla Teasers, Unveiling June 6

Toyota has released additional teaser images ahead of the 2014 Corolla's June 6 reveal. The images appeared on Facebook and include the center stack, headlight, and wheel as well as a previously released image of the lower front fascia and fog light.

The 2014 Corolla will be available with 17-inch alloy wheels with an aggressive, split five-spoke design similar to the wheels on the Scion FR-S. A touch-screen audio system similar to the one in the Toyota RAV4 will also be offered. The Corolla's available headlights with LED accents have aggressive styling that reminds us of the full-size Toyota Avalon and refreshed 2014 Scion tC.

Previously revealed close-up photos of the 2014 Corolla's front grille and taillight suggest that some of the Furia concept's aggressive styling may carry over to the production car. Toyota's Facebook page promised the new Corolla will have “emotional styling” and “sharp contours.” If so, the new Corolla's styling may help it eschew its appliance-like image. We will know June 6, when the automaker fully reveals the new compact sedan.

Images of a 2014 Toyota Corolla prototype spied testing not long ago are included along with official teaser images in the gallery below -- check back to Automobile on June 6 for more on the 2014 Corolla.

What's up with all the aggression in vehicle design?  Who wants an economy car that looks pissed off all the time?  I'll take nice and friendly design any day.
