Toyota Releases More Photos of European-Market 2012 Yaris Hatchback

Toyota has released a collection of new images of the 2012 Yaris hatchback. Although these photos show the European version of the new hatchback, they give us a solid idea of how the car will look when it debuts in the U.S. market later this year.

The key change for the 2012 Yaris is the new, more mature styling. The car grows slightly, making the inside marginally more spacious. Not only are the cabin materials said to be better grained and of higher quality, but the interior is more driver-focused and now has the instrument cluster located directly in front of the driver instead of center-mounted in the previous-gen.

Among the options list are a new 6.1-inch touch-screen infotainment system dubbed Toyota Touch and Go, a backup camera, keyless ignition, and a panoramic roof. None of those toys are available on the current U.S.-market Yaris, and it’s unclear which of them will be offered here with the new car.

Toyota has revealed that the new Yaris hatchback will go on sale in the U.S. market by the end of 2011. While no specific unveil date has been announced, the company did confirm the Yaris debuts as a “major” American auto show -- most likely the Los Angeles show in November.

Until the 2012 Yaris makes its official debut, feast your eyes on our photo gallery of the European version.
