Time is Up: 2012 Neiman Marcus Ferrari FF Editions Gone in 50 Minutes

Christmas is just around the corner, and for those that want to shower their loved ones with lavish and exorbitant gifts, the Neiman Marcus yearly Christmas Book may have something to your liking. Particularly the Fantasy Gift list, which features a $45,000 ping-pong table and the $395,000 2012 Ferrari FF we told you about recently. But you can cross the special edition car off your Christmas list. Only ten examples of the special-edition Ferrari were up for grabs, and all of them were snatched up within 50 minutes.

So what did these 10 customers get spending roughly $36,000 more on this Ferrari? Wearing the Neiman Marcus name adds an exclusive Grigio Caldo paint job, special plaque, and custom-made luggage that matches the leather interior. That luggage will likely travel to Aspen, Colorado, as Ferrari has also thrown in two tickets to the 2012 Ferrari Winter Driving Experience course. Unfortunately, the extra money doesn’t buy you any more performance or horsepower.

This isn’t the first time Neiman Marcus has dressed up an automobile for its Fantasy List: last year, 100 examples of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro Neiman Marcus SS Convertible sold out in a scant three minutes, while 50 copies of a 2010 Jaguar XJ L Supercharged Neiman Marcus Edition sold out in four hours.

New owners of the FF should start receiving their vehicles in spring 2012.

Unfortunately, the extra money doesn’t buy you any more performance or horsepower. Sounds like a lot of money for a Ferrari with an even fancier "name plate".
It's good to know where all that Wall street bailout money is going, while the rest of the country is trying to figure out how to keep the heat on this Christmas.
