More than 400,000 people have attempted to break records in observance of Guinness World Records Day. Among them was a team of gymnasts who managed to cram into a 2012 Mini hatchback -- all 28 of them. The ladies succeeded in setting a new record for the number of people in a Mini hatchback, breaking their previous world record of 27. That was just the first record they broke, as 23 of them also fit inside a classic Mini.
At Potters Field Park in London, U.K., the 28 limber ladies used every inch inside the Mini hatchback, stuffing themselves into the dashboard, footwells, and even the trunk, where they managed to squeeze in four bodies. After celebrating their first record-breaking stunt, the team from East Sussex attempted their second record by stuffing into a classic Mini. The entire event was recorded live as 23 of them successfully sardine-packed themselves inside, breaking their previous record by two more people.
The cram-fest was all part of the eighth annual Guinness World Records day, which celebrates the day the Guinness World Records book became the world’s best-selling copyright book back in 2004.
