Lamborghini has regularly whetted our appetites for the 2012 Aventador with a steady stream of photos showing off the car’s various components. In anticipation of the car’s unveiling next week at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the company’s latest tease shows all of these pieces bolted together into a semi-complete rolling chassis.

Apart from photos of the completed car wearing so-called Tornado camouflage, this new photo is one of the best official looks at what Lambo’s next supercar will look like -- at least underneath the skin. Although we won’t see the completed project until next Tuesday, we are treated to a glimpse of its carbon fiber body shell, its pushrod suspension setup, 19- and 20-inch forged wheels placed in front and back, and the 691-horsepower, 6.5-liter mid-mounted V-12 engine. With a curb weight of only 3472 pounds, that V-12 will be able to move the new raging bullfrom 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, with a top speed of 217 mph. Even without body panels, the car is stunning.

While the final base price for all of that Italian muscle has yet to be set, we already know that it won’t be hard to add an additional $45,000 to the price tag. That said, with the base price of the outgoing Murcielago set at a healthy $323,160, expect the Aventador to startjust north of that price point.

Even without an official figure for buyers to put on their checks, anticipation is high for the latest Lamborghini, and the company has reportedly received a number of pre-orders -- 50 of which stem from customers in Singapore alone. Stick with us for the unveiling of the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador and the rest of the coverage from the 2011 Geneva Motor Show next week.
