Video game enthusiasts around the world have likely let out another collective groan as Sony has announced Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed again.
The cause for delay was "creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches," according to SCEA producer Taku Imasaki. The updated release is due sometime "this holiday season."
Having been delayed several times in the past and now more than a year overdue from initial estimates, the most recent setback to GT5's launch shouldn't have been unexpected. Still, it could be considered a staggering blow to the game's strongest chance yet of actually seeing an in-store display shelf.
