Subaru Launches 2012 Impreza Configurator

The 2012 Subaru Impreza might not be a car you go to bed dreaming about, but as a relatively fun-to-drive car with standard all-wheel-drive, the 2012 Impreza is a solid option for those on a limited budget. So if a new Impreza is what you’re after, Subaru has just released its configurator for the 2012 model, which starts at completely-attainable $18,245.

As is the case with most other Subarus, the 2012 Impreza has tons of available accessories, but not many options. The Impreza’s options are mainly packaged in its five trim levels: 2.0i which will set buyers back $18,245; 2.0i Premium which rings in at $19,545; 2.0i Limited at $21,345; 2.0i Sport Premium for $21,045 and the $23,345 2.0i Sport Limited.

There are a few options that stand out. Most Impreza trim levels with a five-speed manual as standard equipment, but buyers can opt for Subaru’s Lineartronic CVT for $1000. Want the five-door hatch? It’s just a $500 premium over the four-door. Other tempting options include the $1000 Moonroof Package, the $2000 Moonroof + Navigation Package, and the All-Weather Package for $500, which includes winter necessities like heated front seats, automatic climate control, heated side view mirrors and a windshield wiper de-icer.

One option of note that’s standard for Californians but $300 more for the rest of the country is the PZEV package, which certifies the 2012 Impreza as a Super-Ultra-Low-Emissions vehicle. Even with the PZEV package, we managed to spec a nicely equipped Impreza 2.0i Limited with the Moonroof and Navigation Package for $24,645. For those who prefer the added utility of a hatch and the simple pleasure of rowing your own gears, a nicely equipped 2.0i Sport Premium rang in for us at $21,660, including accessories like the $315 fog lights.

You can spec your own 2012 Impreza here. Let us know in the comments below how much yours set you back, and what options you chose.
