Startech Dresses Up 2012 Jaguar XJ Sedan

By most accounts, the 2012 Jaguar XJ is one handsome sedan -- In case you missed it, it was winner of our 2011 Design of the Year award. But those wanting a sportier look from the factory are seemingly out of luck, as the XJ is the only Jaguar model that hasn’t received the R-line look-fast goodies. Enter Startech: for the right amount of scratch, the German company can add a little bit of visual flair to the big Jag.

Brabus’s Startech subsidiary, which specializes in brands not named Mercedes-Benz, recently worked its magic on the latest XJ. Startech begins up front where a new front fascia incorporates gaping air inlets accented with daytime running LED lamps. The air inlets also help reduce front-end lift at high speeds. The bodykit also includes new rocker sills, a lip spoiler, and a diffuser that neatly incorporates Startech's own stainless-steel exhaust tips. The tuning haus also offers forged three-piece 21-inch wheels with a unique pattern.

The XJ already boasts one of the most luxurious interiors in its segment, so Startech’s touches within are minimal. Buyers can spring for Alcantara-trimmed surfaces throughout the car, and most trim is given a glossy piano black finish. For the tech-savvy, Startech will transform the rear passenger area into a Apple geek's dream, thanks to storage compartments and tables designed for the iPad, along with a Bluetooth keyboard. Additionally, the tuner offers a 20MBit/s GSM modem and antenna for WiFi connectivity.
