Although Spyker Cars may be one of the last remaining parties interested in buying Saab from General Motors, it’s no closer to reaching its goal. But it hasn’t abandoned hope.
In a very brief release issued this morning, Spyker confirmed that talks with GM management were “ongoing,” but it did note that the discussion should end shortly.
“As Saab is currently in liquidation,” the release read, “talks must end soon.”
At a press conference held earlier this morning, GM chairman and CEO Ed Whitacre indicated talks with Spkyer have continued, but an agreement has yet to be reached.
“We have not changed our direction on the wind-down of the operation,” said Whitacre. “We have continued talks with Spyker Cars, but we do not have a deal to announce this morning.”
