No More Speculation: Pagani Will Officially Enter the US Market in 2011

Horacio Pagani will take the next step in the exclusive global supercar segment by offering his seven-figure cars to well-heeled American buyers later this year.

“We are thrilled at the opportunity to represent the Pagani brand in the United States and we look forward to the successful launch of the Huayra,” Pagani said in a prepared statement. “This automobile is the result of five years of dedicated effort from the Pagani team and we see this as an unprecedented opportunity to continue expanding our vision of the future for the supercar industry.”

The Modena, Italy-based car crafter never officially sold its successful first car, the Zonda, in the US due to strict federal crash standards. Previously, North American buyers who wanted one had to shell out over 800,000 Euro to get it housed at their vacation compound.

Pagani’s North American dealer network has yet to be announced, but sources close to the matter are indicating that the number of distributors will be extremely limited. Just how limited? Rumor has it, only two US dealers have been selected.

Sure, that’s on the slim side, but then again, the number of buyers who can pay the Huayra’s expected $1.3 million cost of admission will be just as rare.
