Smart has covered its ForTwo model in nearly every vinyl graphic design imaginable, but it had yet to transform one of its microcars into a disco ball. That all changed when the European band Apparatjik commissioned such a vehicle for its upcoming project.
Created for European electronic group Apparatjik, the one-off car is set to make an appearance in the band's upcoming short film titled Pixel City. Green activists, Apparatjik specifically commissioned the Smart EV for its earth-friendly attributes. The film centers around the car as it travels through Berlin, Germany.
In creating the Discoball vehicle, artists started with an electric Smart FoTwo EV as their blank canvas. Its transformation involved several artists painstakingly gluing several thousand tiny mirrors on nearly every imaginable surface of the car, which took three days to complete. All body panels are completely covered in the shiny bits, while every window has been treated with a mirrored coating continuing the theme to match.
