Last week Hot Wheels announced plans to recreate one of its iconic model jumps in full scale at the Indy 500 in May. Shell has answered with its own stunt, in which a Fiat 500 coupe was driven through an inverted loop.
This month's Amsterdam motor show recently played host to an interesting marketing stunt by Shell promoting its V Power fuels. The stunt features a specially-prepared Fiat 500, which performs a loop-de-loop in front of a group of onlookers outside the auto show.
Although the vast majority of the commentary is in Dutch, the driver, Steve Truglia, speaks English, providing some insight on the spectacle. Truglia briefly speaks on the preparation that went into the exhibition, which required close attention to detail and intense planning. He also makes note of the surface changes that entailed careful driving and awareness of speed.
An additional clip provides a behind-the-scenes look at the preparations for the feat.
