The Aston Martin AM310 concept made its first public appearance last weekend at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. Some suggest the concept, which shares its profile with the mysterious Aston Martin seen testing recently at the Green Hell, might be the next-generation DBS hiding in plain sight.
The AM310 concept showcases the latest in high-tech manufacturing with carbon fiber used throughout for increased strength and reduced weight, which helps increase performance as well as fuel economy. An updated version of Aston’s 5.9-liter V-12 sits under the hood of the AM310 and will also power the next-generation DBS, which may use a new name or one from Aston's past. Aston Martin wasn't the only automaker debuting an attractive concept debut at the event -- the BMW Zagato Coupe was revealed there as well.
One-77 styling can be seen in the AM310 concept’s sleek front end, creased fender lines, and wider rear end. Carbon fiber plays a crucial role in the AM310's construction. How closely the AM310 concept resembles Aston Martin's next-generation DBS is unclear, but one thing's evident: the concept shows the automaker's continued evolution-over-revolution approach to design.
