Roush Prepares Supercharger Kit for 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0

We already have the scoop on Ford Racing's superchargers for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT but Roush is preparing its own blower kit for the 5.0-liter V-8.

Roush calls its supercharger the ROUSHcharger and it's capable of pushing the 5.0-liter V-8 to the range of 500-550 horsepower on pump gas. Different pulleys are planned for a later date and the kit will be available next month. As it stands right now, it should offer those considering Ford Racing's 525-horsepower supercharger kit another option at a comparable price. Capability is coming to push output over 600 horses to better compete with Ford Racing's 624-horsepower unit.

The supercharger kit carries a suggested retail price of $5999 and contains the following as detailed by the Roush Web site.

-- TVS2300 blower with bolt on style hub, comes standard with 90mm pulley -- Capable of 500-550HP on stock fuel pump -- Estimated 7 PSI Boost with 90mm pulley -- Other pulley sizes will be available separately at a later date -- Capable of well over 600HP with upgraded fuel system, bottom end & smaller pulley -- New Style 47lb fuel injectors -- Larger intercooler (Same used in P-51) -- New high flow fuel rail -- New Throttle Body (Twin 60mm) same as GT500 & P-51 -- Heavy Duty Roush tensioner on 1st FEAD (not included from Ford factory) (front engine accessory drive) -- High flow Roush air lid -- 90 day parts warranty on Roush parts only -- Does not include PCM calibration or maintain factory warranty -- Professional tuning & installation recommended -- Pre-orders are currently being accepted for the 2011 ROUSHcharger Tuner Kit’s -- The approximate availability for shipment is early September -- 2011 5.0L ROUSHcharger Kit with Roush Warranty & Calibration coming late fall
