Owners of the current-generation 2009-2012 Subaru Forester may not be held in place by their seatbelts in a crash; the parking lights in the 2012 Buick Regal fail to illuminate, and drivers of the 2003-2004 Infiniti M45 may think they have more gas than they really do. 2009-2012 Subaru Forester The Problem: Subaru is recalling certain Foresters for rear center seatbelts that may not lock in a crash if a child seat is installed. If the belt does not restrain the seat, there is a higher risk for injury to a child sitting in the backseat in a car seat. The Fix: Owners will begin being notified no later than April 13, and dealers will install a new rear center seatbelt assembly for rear seatbelts at no charge. Subaru can be contacted at 1-800-782-2783 regarding recall number WQA-37. Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: A total of more than 275,000 2009-2012 Subaru Foresters are being recalled. Subaru has broken down the potentially affected models by year: 88,759 2009 Foresters built from November 26, 2007 to March 26, 2009; 111,830 2010 Foresters built from January 28, 2009 to August 6, 2010; 74,802 2011 Foresters built from June 10, 2010 to August 31, 2011; and a to-be-determined number of 2012 Foresters built from May 25, 2011 to March 13, 2012. 2003-2004 Infiniti M45 The Problem: Due to a kink in the circuit board, the fuel gauge reading may mislead drivers by showing the vehicle has more fuel than it actually does, leading the vehicle to run out of gas without warning. The Fix: Owners will be notified beginning mid-April, and dealers will then fix the circuit board for free. Nissan can also be contacted at 1-800-647-7261 Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: There are 8120 Infiniti M45s built between March 7, 2002 and June 3, 2004 affected by this recall. 2012 Buick Regal The Problem: A software error may cause the parking lights to not light up when the driver turns on the headlights, resulting in reduced visibility from the rear. The Fix: Owners will start receiving notifications this week, and dealers will reprogram the body control module for free. GM can also be contacted for further questions at 1-800-521-7300. Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: There are 3633 Buick Regals manufactured between February 22, 2011 and February 22, 2012 that are affected by this recall. Disco
Used to be such a looker, now overweight, flaccid and morphing into the Tribeca. I'd rather see the roof raised and tail squared on a legacy again with the newer FB 86mm square engine as more of a 2+2 like the Juke just less ugly.
