2011-2013 Ford Fiesta The Problem: When the front passenger seat is unoccupied, the passenger-side curtain airbag won't activate in the case of a crash. This increases the risk of injury to a rear-seat passenger, and also contradicts what the car's owner's manual indicates. Ford says it has no reports of injuries from this issue, but that the problem could expose rear-seat occupants to higher injury risk. The Fix: Ford dealerships will reprogram the airbag controller so that the passenger-side curtain airbag always deploys in an accident, regardless of whether the front passenger seat is occupied. Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 154,604 2011-2013 Ford Fiesta sedans and hatchbacks   2012 Land Rover Range Rover The Problem: A problem in the manufacturing process means that the Range Rover's windshield might not be adequately installed. In an accident, the windshield could separate from the vehicle and cause further injuries. The Fix: Starting November 5, Land Rover will notify affected owners and replace the windshields for free. Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 36 2012 Land Rover Range Rover SUVs   2011 Lotus Evora The Problem: On models equipped with a supercharged engine, a flexible oil-feed line connected to the cylinder head can fail and leak. This can allow oil to spill on hot engine parts, potentially starting a fire. Last October, Lotus recalled the Elise and Exige for a similar problem. The Fix: Lotus will install a new, stronger oil-feed line for free. Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 80 2011 Lotus Evora coupes   2010-2012 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Coupe The Problem: The tire-pressure monitoring system on the Aston Martin V12 Vantage coupe does not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 138, which requires the TPMS warning light to illuminate when tire pressures fall below 25 percent of their cold tire pressure. This could allow the owner to inadvertently drive on underinflated front tires. The Fix: Aston Martin plans to reprogram the tire-pressure monitoring software for free. Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 169 2010-2012 Aston Martin V12 Vantage coupes Source: NHTSA
