Recall Central: 807,000 Honda Pilots and Odysseys, Acura MDXs Could Roll Away

2003-2004 Honda Pilot and Odyssey, 2003-2006 Acura MDX

The Problem: Due to a malfunction with the ignition interlock on some Odyssey, Pilot, and MDX vehicles may not function properly. The interlock could wear down from use over time and lead the ability to remove the key when the vehicle is not in park. If the car is shut off while not parked and the parking brake is not set, the car could potentially roll away and crash.

The Fix: Honda and Acura will begin notifying owners in February 2013, but has yet to announce how it will resolve the problem. Not all recalled vehicles will require a repair, but owners can go onto recalls.honda.com or recalls.acura.com and enter their vehicle's VIN to find out their cars will need to be repaired.

Number of Vehicles Potentially Affected: 807,000 Honda and Acura vehicles total ā€“ 318,000 2003-2004 Honda Odyssey minivans, 259,000 2003-2004 Honda Pilot SUVs, and 230,000 2003-2006 Acura MDX SUVs.
