2011 BMW 328i xDrive, 335i xDrive The Problem: The front driveshaft attachment bolts that connect the driveshaft to the all-wheel drive transfer case may not have been properly tightened, and could loosen over time. The loose connection could cause noise and vibration from the front driveshaft and potentially lead to a loss of power to the front wheels, a vehicle breakdown, and increase the risk of a crash. The Fix: BMW will notify owners and dealers starting next month (October 2011) and will replace the bolts free of charge. Number of Vehicles Affected: BMW estimates 190 of affected vehicles, all with xDrive all-wheel drive and built between February 8 and July 29, 2011; however, BMW expects less than 100 of the vehicles to have the defect.
