Prices are increasing on the 2013 GMC Acadia lineup by more than $1000 compared to the 2012 model, GM has announced. Of course, the Acadia also has revised interior and exterior styling as well as a few new features. The base-model Acadia will cost $34,875 and the more premium Acadia Denali will carry a $46,770 MSRP.

Both prices include a destination charge of $825 as well as more standard equipment than on the 2012 Acadia. The 2013 GMC Acadia gets as standard a rearview camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED daytime running lights, rear parking sensors, a USB port, and ambient interior lighting.

The 2013 GMC Acadia Denali also sees a price bump of a little more than $1000. Aside from the freshened interior and exterior styling, the Denali now includes as standard a power tilt/telescoping steering column, a head-up display, blind spot monitoring system, a quieter interior, and GM’s Rear Cross Traffic Alert.

If you don’t want to spend more than $50,000 on the mechanically related 2013 Buick Enclave, other available options on the 2013 GMC Acadia include a power liftgate, heated/cooled seats, HID headlights, a touch-screen navigation system, and a dual-panel sunroof. Most 2013 Acadias will have GM’s new IntelliLink infotainment interface as well as a center air bag to protect the driver and front passenger in a side impact crash.

The seven- and eight-passenger GMC Acadia is powered by a lightly modified version of the 3.6-liter V-6 in the pre-refresh crossover. The engine makes 288 hp and 270 lb-ft of torque, and fuel economy is EPA-rated at 17/24 mpg city/highway in front-drive form and 16/23 mpg with all-wheel drive. On the 2012 Acadia, all-wheel drive is a $2000 option.

While a noticeable price bump isn’t usually a good change, it might just help the 2013 GMC Acadia stand out from the redone 2013 Chevrolet Traverse from below and allow the 2013 Buick Enclave to move further upmarket.
