After 13 years in Atlanta, Georgia, Porsche Cars North America has announced plans to build an all-new corporate headquarters in the southern city. The new building will be on the “Aerotropolis Atlanta” development site near the Atlanta International Airport.
The new headquarters will combine nearly all of Porsche’s North American employees into one location, including a Technical Training and Service Center. It will also relocate Porsche Financial Services and Porsche Business Services from Lisle, Illinois to Georgia. About 400 people are slated to work at the new headquarters.
In addition to the office complex, Porsche plans to build a new Customer Experience Center for driving schools and events. It will feature a 1.6-mile road course, skid pads, and an off-road course. Work on the new headquarters begins this fall, with a move-in date set for the second half of 2013.
Porsche has had its North American headquarters in Atlanta for 13 years, and spent over a year evaluating several sites around the country before selecting the Aerotropolis district. Above all, we’re hoping we get offered the chance to fling a 911 around the new handling course.
