Plum Crazy, Hemi Orange Make Comeback on 2013 Challenger SRT8, R/T

If there's one thing Chrysler is masterful at, it's producing special-edition models. From Jeep to Dodge to Chrysler, the company knows how to do limited-edition models with plenty of personality. The Dodge Challenger in particular lends itself well to retro-themed special editions, and Dodge is re-introducing two fan favorite colors that had brief runs earlier in the new Challenger's run for later in 2013. Plum Crazy and Hemi Orange will be offered later in the Spring, in both R/T Classic and SRT8 trims.

Both colors will be offered on the R/T and SRT8 models, but configurations and prices will vary slightly between the two. Challenger R/T Classic models offer bodyside striping in matte black or white, while the SRT8 has available full-length dual center stripes in Black, Silver or Medium Metallic Gray in a high-gloss finish.

The price for the Plum Crazy paint on the Challenger R/T Classic will start at $34,990, including $995 destination, and the Challenger SRT8 model with the purple hue will start at $45,770, including destination. The Plum Crazy Challengers are available for order now, and will be on-sale starting in March.

Prices were not officially announced yet for the Hemi Orange models, but will go on-sale a few months later in May.

How about reporting the WHOLE story? Report how in 2010 Dodge released plum crazy as a "limited edition" color to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Challenger name, charged a premium for the color, and now release the color again, upsetting many who purchased what was promised as a "limited edition" color
