Paul Walker, an actor best known for his role in the "Fast & Furious" movie franchise, died yesterday in a car crash. Walker was passenger in his friend's Porsche Carrera GT en route to a charity event for Reach Out Worldwide, an organization co-founded by Walker. The driver of the car has not been identified, but Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed there we no survivors in the single-car accident.
Reach Out Worldwide was founded by Paul Walker and some of his friends to help after natural disasters. Walker was on his way to an event to benefit the Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts. The event took place in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Paul Walker had roles in a variety of films, but none earned him the fame or recognition of the "Fast & Furious" franchise. Walker and Vin Diesel starred in the original film and Walker only sat out one of the five sequels. Walker was in the middle of filming the seventh installment in the series. "Fast & Furious 7" was scheduled to hit theaters in July 2014.
Paul Walker is survived by his 15-year-old daughter.
