Before the official launch of the 2011 Volt sedan, Chevrolet wants to give consumers in major urban markets a first look. The automaker began by establishing a customer advisory board for that same purpose, and will embark on the two-month Volt Unplugged tour across the United States to show off its plug-in hybrid.
The Volt Unplugged tour will hit twelve major metropolitan markets around the United States, starting in Seattle next weekend. At each stop, participants will be able to speak with the engineers and designers responsible for the Volt project, see the production vehicle, as well as drive one.
"The Volt Unplugged tour will give people a chance to get behind the wheel of the Volt and find out for themselves what makes this vehicle so special," Volt product and marketing director said Tony DiSalle said.
The twelve-stop tour will hit four states that are not part of the Volt's scheduled, seven-state rollout: Washington, Florida, North Carolina, and Illinois.
