Novitec Rosso Prepares Tuned Ferrari 458 and 599 GTO for 2011 Geneva Motor Show

We've already seen Novitec Rosso's tuned Ferrari California for the Geneva Motor Show, but the German tuning firm has two more prancing horses for the show. Joining the California will be a 599 GTO and 458, all of which make their world debut in Switzerland.

Novitec gives the 458 a complete respiratory makeover, boosting its power to 609 horsepower and 569 pound-feet of torque. The 39-horsepower, 29 pound-feet of torque bump comes from an improved carbon fiber air intake, a completely revised exhaust system, and a remapped engine computer. Bolted to the outsides of the 4.5-liter V-8 is a pair of new exhaust manifolds, sport catalysts, and revamped plumbing. The exhaust piping is constructed from the same nickel-chromium inconel alloy found in Formula 1 applications, helping to shave 46 pounds off the supercar's curb weight.

The power upgrades not only give the car some more grunt, but also increase its top speed to over 205 mph, an increase of at least 3 mph. With minimal intrusion on the car's stock appearance, Novitec improved aerodynamics to compensate for the increased top speed. Finished in carbon fiber, a new front splitter, side skirts, and deck-lid mounted spoiler assist by increasing down force at high speeds.

Custom lowering springs drop the 458's ride height by 1.4 inches, while a new set of five-spoke 21 and 22-inch wheels front and rear respectively complete the revisions.

Joining the modified 458 will also be a tuned 599 GTO. As it leaves the factory floor in Maranello, Italy, the limited-production 599 GTO comes equipped with a 6.0-liter V-12 that cranks out 671 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. While already an impressive machine, Novitec takes it a few steps further in raising power output to an astonishing 888 horsepower and 636 pound-feet of torque. Reaching the immense power figure is no easy task, which is why a pair of superchargers is called upon. Novitec added an air-to-water intercooler, custom intake manifolds, and a new exhaust system to help the engine reach its optimum performance. Drivers can alter the exhaust note with the quick turn of the Manettino button on the steering wheel.

Now twice boosted, the 599 GTO from Novitec can sprint from 0 - 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, 0.15 ticks faster than the stock supercar, while top speed increases to by 3 mph to 211 mph. More impressively, though, may be the improved power to weight ratio found on the tuned car, which is now 3.8 pounds per horsepower, down from 4 pounds per horsepower in the stock car.

Styling upgrades are strictly limited to blacked-out lighting, a historic yellow stripe recalling the Ferrari 250 GTO racing car, and new wheels. Sport springs and 21 and 22-inch forged wheels front and back, respectively, finish off the exterior upgrades.

Look for the three tuned Ferraris from Novitec Rosso to make their world debut at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show next week.

Chris
That 599 GTO Novitec has very dissappointing numbers. They added over 200 extra Horse Power only to improve the top speed by 3 mph, the 0-60 mph speed by .15 seconds and the 0-124 mph by .7 seconds? That is a joke. With 888 HP that thing should go at least 240 mph and do 0-60 in 3.0, and 0-124 mph in 8.8. At least!
