Nissan announced today that it will take the wraps off a new concept car at this year's Geneva International Motor Show, offering up a single teaser image.
According to a press release issued this morning, the Nissan Qazana is "best described as a small Crossover," "conceived to challenge conventional wisdom about what buyers of small five-door cars should expect." In other words, Nissan caught BMW's segment-crossing bug responsible for the X6 and upcoming PAS.
The concept will preview an unnamed compact car that Nissan will start producing in 2010 at its Sunderland, England plant. The design is defined by large, wide wheel arches, a sporty, low-riding body, and suicide doors.
Nissan hasn't said if the small car based on the Qazana will make it over to the U.S., but chances are high that this could be a competitor to the brand new Kia Soul.
