If it isn't broke, don't fix it. After reporting double-digit sales growth for both the Armada SUV and Titan pickup in July 2010, Nissan's full-size offering will largely stay the same for the 2011 model year -- albeit with minor pricing tweaks. Pricing is also out for the slightly altered 2011 Nissan Rogue, which will start from $21,610.
The 2011 Armada is still offered in three different trim levels -- all with Nissan's 317-horsepower, 5.6-liter V-8 and a five-speed automatic -- but the names have been changed to SV, SL, and Platinum. SV models, which start at $38,860 for a rear-wheel-drive version and $44,460 for a four-wheel-drive example, include dual-zone automatic climate control, four 12-volt power outlets, and a power driver's seat. Stepping up to the SL trim adds a bit of cost (pricing jumps to $43,790 and 46,590 for two- and four-wheel-drive models, respectively), but does throw in things like leather seating, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and a Bose audio system. For an extra $7250, the Platinum model maxes out the content by throwing in heated front seats and steering wheel, navigation, and a DVD rear entertainment system.
For Nissan's 2011 Titan, changes are limited only to trim names and pricing, which now run roughly $250 more than last year. Although content levels little (if at all) from last year, the previous XE, SE, and top-end LE models are now named S, SV, and SL, fitting in with Nissan's fleet-wide nomenclature.
Regardless of the model selected, 2011 Titans continue to use the 5.6-liter V-8 and a five-speed automatic. Want a bare-bones work truck? The Titan S is likely your trim, if you can live with cloth seats, vinyl flooring, and steel wheels. Titan S 2x4 and 4x4 King Cabs retail for $27,770 and $30,620, respectively, while springing for the four-door Crew Cab bumps those figures to $30,320 and $33,170.
SV models offer a little more glitz, adding aluminum wheels, chrome bumpers, power mirrors, and an in-dash 6-CD changer. Pricing for SV King Cabs start at $29,770 and $32,620 for two- and four-wheel-drive models, respectively, while the Crew Cab adds an extra $2200. Buyers looking for something other than the typical 5.6- and 6.5-foot beds will have to shop the SV. Nissan's 7.25-foot bed is only available on SV Crew Cab models; long-bed SV Crew Cab pricing is set at $32,420 with rear-wheel-drive, and $35,300 with four-wheel-drive.
Billed as a rough, tough, off-road pickup, 2011 Titan Pro-4X models are again available only as four-wheel-drive models, and add skid plates, lower gear ratios, unique Rancho dampers, Bluetooth phone connectivity, and front bucket seats. Pricing starts at $35,500 for King Cab models, while the larger Crew Cab is again a $2200 premium.
Top end SL models add leather seating, power-folding side-view mirrors, chrome door handles and mirror covers, and chromed 20-inch wheels. SL models are only available as Crew Cabs; two-wheel-drive examples sticker at $37,870, while four-wheel-drive models run $40,570.
All pricing includes $950 in destination charges. Look for the 2011 Titan and Armada to hit Nissan dealers across the U.S. immediately.
The basic Rogue S with front-wheel drive will set customers back $21,610, which includes an $800 destination charge. Stepping up to the all-wheel drive layout will cost $22,860. From the base S model, further upgrades include the SV and Krom trims. All Rogues are equipped with a standard 2.5-liter inline-four sporting 170 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque while the transmission of choice is Nissan's Xtronic CVT.
In preparation for the new model year, Nissan opted to redesign the front fascia, changing up the lower front grille and foglights. More chrome moldings were installed on the exterior, and the gauge cluster now has an all-digital display in the center. Premium and SL packages are available for the SV exclusively and the top-end Krom edition continues to employ unique front and rear bumper covers, a center-mounted exhaust, and new 18-inch alloy wheels.
