Nissan Juke Customization Program a Hit in Europe

The Nissan Juke already stands out from the crowd with it's unique features, but they'll stand out even more in Europe, where Nissan UK has extended a customization program for the compact crossover.

Initially launched in 2012, the program will now allow buyers to customize 11 different design elements with up to eight different colors and shades. Customizable exterior bits include the Juke’s 17-inch alloy wheels, roof spoiler, side sills, and headlight finishers. Three new exterior paint colors have also been added to the palette, including Electric Blue, Mat Black, and Black Purple. Should buyers choose bigger wheels for their Juke, newly designed 18-inch wheels can be finished in silver, black, or metallic gray. The color craze continues inside, as the center console and door finishers can be painted to match the exterior. A splash of color can also be added to the air vents and on the floor mats with contrast stitching.

Before buyers go all color crazy, they can see how their new Juke would look thanks to a new 3D configurator that displays the Juke from all angles. Once buyers design their one-of-a-kind Juke, they’re given a personalization code to take to the dealer to order the special Juke. Since we’ve already seen the Juke undergo an awesome transformation with the Juke R, we don’t think this customization program is a bad idea, and neither does Nissan. “Nissan USA has explored the same concept and looking into its feasibility and evaluating it, but at this point it’s only an exploration and nothing planned at this time for the US market,”

a Nissan rep told us. After all, It’s worked for higher-end automakers such as Ferrari, and also for Mini.

Should Nissan bring this customization program Stateside? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
