On the road for more than three years now, the Nissan Leaf is beginning to trickle back into the used car market. To give customers some added peace of mind, Nissan is offering an extended battery and powertrain warranty, in addition to the usual components of its certified pre-owned program, such as a multi-point vehicle inspection, vehicle history report, and mileage limitation.
The warranty coverage on CPO cars extends the original eight-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty coverage against materials and workmanship and five-year, 60,000-mile coverage for battery capacity loss below nine out of 12 bars of capacity, as shown by the vehicle battery capacity gauge, to a total EV system and powertrain warranty coverage of 7 years or 100,000 miles.
In addition to a 167-point inspection, a CarFax Vehicle History Report, a three-month trial subscription to satellite radio, the CPO program for the leaf also includes rental car reimbursement and trip interruption coverage for two years. Finance rates as low as 0.9 percent for 36 months will be available on CPO Nissan Leaf models for those who qualify. Only Leafs with 60,000 miles or less are eligible to be part of the CPO program. The Leaf CPO program started in September.
