Mini Releases Custom Folding Bike For Cooper Owners

Finding parking shouldn't be a problem with Mini’s newest creation, a folding bike that fits in the back of your Cooper. The bike allows Mini owners in congested urban areas to get closer to their destination with a bit less walking.

Commuters don’t have to worry about lugging around a heavy bike onto public transports. The collapsible bike is small and light enough to take on buses or trains, often free of charge. A light-weight aluminum frame and a clever folding mechanism make the trendy bike the ideal companion while traveling.

This little bike shares the same ride characteristics as its full-size counterparts, but promises to be more convenient to transport. The bike is folded along the crossbar and handlebars, and the process should take just a few seconds. The pedals can be folded up, and the saddle is removable, too. Equipped with 8 gears, 20-inch wheels and weighing in at about 24lbs., it’s quick and versatile.

Teflon-coated chains keep chain oil from getting on your pants, and riding in the rain should be no problem with front and rear mudguards to minimize splashing. Reflectors provide good visibility on the road and a thumb-level bike bell gives surrounding travelers a heads-up.

The bike comes in matte black with silver Mini lettering on the crossbar, and will be available this August from selected Mini dealers.
