At long last, the embargo has lifted, and we can finally show you the 2014 Jaguar F-Type in all of its (now official) glory.
The new Jaguar F-Type images display the red and gray models from last week's shot, and show off the Jag's previously unseen rear view and interior. The F-Type's rear end clearly pays homage to the legendary E-Type. It has thin yet modern taillights, a flat rear deck, and a chiseled yet still rounded rear fascia. The new Jaguar also pays tribute to the original by changing the exhaust configuration based on which engine is found under the hood; the new images show a twin center-exit exhaust on one car, and a more conventionally placed quad exhaust on another. This is one of the few visual tricks to identify what's underhood -- cars with Jaguar's new supercharged, 340-hp, 3.0-liter V-6 make use of the center-exit exhaust pipes, while F-Types fitted with the optional 495-hp, 5.0-liter V-8 recieve the quad-exhaust treatment.
Our peek inside the new rear-drive Jaguar roadster reveals supportive-looking sport seats, an abundance of leather, and an asymmetrical center stack complete with a flying buttress grab-handle on the passenger side. The images also highlight F-Type design details like the leather-wrapped dashboard and the door handle that features the Jaguar name embossed in brushed aluminum. Jaguar's usual rotary shifter does not make an appearance; instead, the standard eight-speed automatic transmission is controlled by a traditional shift lever,  which also allows for manual shift commands.
Although the finished product looks virtually identical to the C-X16 concept shown at the 2011 Frankfurt motor show, there's one big difference: the roof. Jaguar's launching the F-Type initially as a convertible; a fixed-roof coupe isn't due for another year or two.
