Well, we now know where the new 2013 McLaren 12C Spider ranks in the realm of awesome cars: cooler than a Jaguar XJL, but not as cool as a Ferrari FF or a Chevrolet Camaro Convertible. That's based upon the speed at which the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book cars have sold out, anyways. This year's car – the McLaren – was sold out in just under two hours.

Selling faster than the McLaren were the Ferrari FF last year (50 minutes) and the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible in 2010 (three minutes). While there were just 10 Ferraris available, the fact that 100 Camaros sold out in almost no time is quite impressive. There were only 12 of the 2013 12C Spiders to snatch up this year, meaning 12C Spider sold one every 10 minutes until they were gone.

On top of the unique trim and the exclusive trip, buyers of the Neiman Marcus 12C will also be some of the first Spider owners in the U.S. – Neiman Marcus says that the cars are slated to arrive by Christmas, while all other 12C Spiders should be hitting our shores around the start of 2013.

McLaren was the exclusive automotive partner of this year's Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. Tony Joseph, regional director of McLaren North America, said in a release that "working with Neiman Marcus, we were able to offer a very special holiday gift for 12 lucky new McLaren owners, so we're not surprised the orders were fulfilled so quickly."

All McLaren 12C Spiders are powered by the same a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 making 616 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The sprint to 60 mph is accomplished in just 3.2 seconds and the car can charge on to a top speed of 204 mph (or 196 mph with the top down).
