Chrysler Group’s parts division, Mopar, has announced that it will produce over 150 accessories for the 2013 Dodge Dart compact sedan. The components, which can be ordered from dealerships once the Dart goes on sale, span the gamut from kayak racks to a carbon-fiber hood.
Among the items available is the aforementioned hood, a lightweight carbon-fiber piece with a hood scoop designed to give the Dart an “aggressive and sporty appearance.” Mopar also will offer bike racks, upgraded brakes, different front grille inserts, 18-inch wheels with black-painted inserts, a rear diffuser, a trunklid spoiler, new lips and side skirts, a chrome-covered fuel door and mirror housings, stainless-steel B-pillar trim, and sports pedals.
Mopar also promises a wireless charging system, which will allow drivers to juice up their phone or other portable device by simply placing it on a certain part of the center console. The inductive charging system “sends” power wirelessly to compatible cases for smartphones and other gadgets.
The components go on sale when the 2013 Dodge Dart reaches showrooms later this year.
