In honor of reaching 1,000,000 Facebook fans, Porsche has wrapped a 2011 911 GT3 R Hybrid racer with the names of its digital devotees. The car is now on display at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart.
Marking its achievement of being the quickest automaker to reach 1,000,000 fans on Facebook, Porsche is thanking all of those who “liked” the brand by putting their names on a 911 GT3.That said, sheet metal isn’t an infinite resource, and as a result, the names of only 27,000 lucky Porschephiles were printed onto the car.
In keeping with the Facebook theme, the car’s motif is white with navy blue names and accents. The Facebook GT3 will be on display as a special exhibit at the Porsche Museum through February 20, but you can look to see if your name made the cut by visiting www.porsche.com/thankyou.
Although we’re unable to put your name on any sheet metal, we do invite you to “like” Automobile Magazine on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/automobilemag) to keep tabs on the latest car news and feature stories.
