AMG, Mercedes-Benz's performance division, revealed a different type of performance vehicle last week: a speedboat. Partnering with Cigarette Racing, the firm unveiled a 46-foot-long speedboat at the Miami boat show late last week.

Loosely based on Cigarette's 46' Rider, the speedboat employs a pair of Mercury twin-turbocharged V-8's. The 9-liter engines have been tuned to produce upwards of 1350 hp each, and are capable of propelling the boat to speeds around 130 mph.

The AMG boat is hand-painted in Mercedes' own "Alubeam" silver, accented by "Mystic White" stripes. The hull sports a giant AMG logo on both sides, while seating surfaces are trimmed in the same Nappa leather found inside the SLS AMG. Instrumentation is automotive-based, and the forward cabin includes an Alcantara headliner and a carbon fiber cooler.

The "Inspired by AMG" 46' Rider will be available just in time for boating season, with an on sale date scheduled for May. There's no word on pricing yet, but the Miami Herald says the boat will run $1 million -- nearly five times the price of an SLS AMG...
