Russian athletes Alexei Nemov and Evgeni Plushenko drive a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG in a new TV spot. While the two gold medal Olympians may not play the same sport, they show their competitive nature in the commercial.
When Russian gymnast Nemov hands his keys to Plushenko to sign an autograph, the figure skater begins to daydream about driving a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG on a racetrack. After snapping Plushenko out of his fantasy, Nemov appears behind the wheel, saying, "Now I'll show you figure skating."
The standard SLS AMG is powered by 6.2-liter V-8 cranking out 563 hp and 479-lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear wheels via a seven-speed automatic transmission. While not the fastest car we've tested, the SLS AMG was definitely quick in our last test where it hit 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and achieved a sub-12-second quarter-mile time.
